Understanding the capital machine

The Intelligence Layer

The Intelligence Layer translates the machine’s current state into a tangible framework — where the system is, what similar conditions have historically meant, and the levels that matter from here.

Built on the indices within The Context Layer and validated through The ANTIKYTHERA Index — Predictive Capability Study II, each country’s five indices are mapped across a level × motion framework, capturing their current position, direction of travel and rate of change.

Alongside the state composite sits a frozen-weight optimised overlay and the Core-tier signal register — indicators that achieved a validation score of 85 or above. Each signal is evaluated live and classified ACTIVE or INACTIVE, with its original trigger level and published historical track record displayed alongside it.

Weights, thresholds and triggers are frozen as filed. Nothing is re-fitted to the current month.

This is not a forecast. It is a systematic reading of what the machine is signalling now, grounded in what comparable conditions have historically implied.

Australia

The ANTIKYTHERA AUS INDEX reads HIGH & RISING — composite +0.37 on the −2…+2 score scale, 3-month change +0.16, 12-month change −0.53.

Interpretation: No directional call on AU 10-year yields — composite level +0.37 and 12-month change −0.53 disagree; each leads AU 10y yield changes 6–12m out on its own (IC +0.20 to +0.27), but a split is not confluence — the call changes after 2 consecutive months; both figures are shown as read.

How to read — x-axis: each index's level on its −2…+2 score scale (right of centre = supportive backdrop). y-axis: the 3-month rate of change (above centre = improving). The large verdigris dot is the ANTIKYTHERA AUS INDEX composite; each pillar sub-index carries its own colour, matched to its label. Hover over (or tab to) any index to bring its 12-month path forward — the tail marks where it sat 3, 6, 9 and 12 months ago, fainter the older the reading.

The Optimised Index

Where the state composite measures where the machine is, this line exists to predict. Study II tested reweightings of the machine's components against forward equity returns; this is the winning combination, frozen as filed — signed pillar weights (economy -0.20 · sentiment +0.80) over 12-month component-score changes, tuned to lead ASX 200 over the following 6 months. Validated record: IC +0.33 (sample halves +0.34 / +0.33) · walk-forward +0.30, 61% hit.

Interpretation: Current reading +0.00, the 48th percentile — inside the 30th–70th percentile band of its own last ten years, where the validated signal carries no weight. The overlay is making no call this month — no call is the honest call.

The Core register — 4 of 7 active

The 7 indicators driven by the ANTIKYTHERA AUS INDEX that scored 85 or better in Study II and took the Core tier. Sign, horizon and record are frozen as filed; only the readings move. An indicator is ACTIVE when its predictor sits beyond the 70th or 30th percentile of its own trailing ten years — the state in which the study's walk-forward signal, sign × (percentile − 0.5), is at its strongest — and INACTIVE inside that band, where it is on the register but making no call.

Interpretation: 4 of the 7 Core indicators driven by the ANTIKYTHERA AUS INDEX are active — the predictor sits beyond the 70th or 30th percentile of its own ten years, where the walk-forward signal carries its weight. Together they point to Copper lower, US high-yield spreads wider, AU 10-year yield lower, WTI crude softer. Newly active this month: US high-yield spreads. The remaining 3 are inactive — inside the band, making no call.

Points to: the call implied at the sign and horizon published in Study II — greyed while the indicator is inactive. Record: full-sample rank correlation, walk-forward IC, and out-of-sample hit rate against the median. Interpretation ledger

Every interpretation this page prints is logged the first time its data state appears: the readings it derives from are fingerprinted, the record is serialised canonically and hashed (SHA-256), and each record embeds the hash of the one before it — the same process that seals the research filing chain. One data state, one row; a pipeline run that changes nothing adds nothing.

Column guide — Logged: when the record was written. As at: the last month on the composite when it was written. Composite: the ANTIKYTHERA AUS INDEX level and its 3- and 12-month changes as recorded. Index call / Optimised index / Core register: the interpretation lines exactly as printed above at that data state (the Optimised Index line joined the record at schema 1.1 — earlier rows show a dash). Record hash: SHA-256 over the canonical record (hover for the full digest); each record chains to the previous one, so editing any historical row breaks every hash after it.

A record, not advice. This ledger is a mechanical record of the indicative outlook inferred by the ANTIKYTHERA AUS INDEX at each data state — kept so the trail cannot be quietly rewritten, not so it can be acted on. Nothing in it is a forecast, a recommendation or financial advice: the machine reports what frozen, validated signs imply about broad markets, with no knowledge of any person's objectives, financial situation or needs.

Refreshed mechanically on every pipeline run from the same vintage database as the Context Layer. Method, evidence and confidence scoring: see the filed study; the register's rejected rows are retained there deliberately.
